Accra, 30th August 2023 – The management and organizers of the Africa Monologue Challenge (AMC) wish to unequivocally disassociate ourselves from the Afri Monologue Competition currently taking place in Kenya. We have been made aware of misleading claims being propagated by the organizers of the Afri Monologue Competition that suggest a connection between their event and the Africa Monologue Challenge.
The Africa Monologue Challenge is a prestigious annual event that celebrates the rich diversity of storytelling and performance across the African continent. Our platform aims to provide a stage for emerging talents in monologue performance while fostering unity and cultural exchange among African nations. It is important to clarify the following points of distinction between the Africa Monologue Challenge and the Afri
Monologue Competition:
1. False Representation: The organizers of the Afri Monologue Competition have falsely asserted that they represent the Africa Monologue Challenge. We want to make it clear that there is no affiliation, endorsement, or partnership between our two events. The Africa Monologue Challenge operates independently and has no involvement in the organization or management of the Afri Monologue Competition.
2. Misleading Claims: It has come to our attention that the Afri Monologue Competition has been claiming that its winners will be sent as finalists for the Africa Monologue Challenge. This claim is completely false and without merit. The selection process for finalists in the Africa Monologue Challenge is carried out through a rigorous and transparent evaluation by a panel of esteemed judges, with no connection to any other competition.
3. Submission Fees: We would like to emphasize that the Africa Monologue Challenge operates on the principle of inclusivity and does not charge individuals any submission fees. Our commitment is to provide a platform that is accessible to aspiring performers from all walks of life across the African continent and Africans in the Diaspora. The claim that the Afri Monologue Competition charges fees for submission is not in line with our values.
4. Rotating Host Countries: The Africa Monologue Challenge has a tradition of rotating its host countries each year, celebrating the diverse cultures and narratives that Africa has to offer. This approach ensures that the event remains dynamic and representative of the entire continent.
In light of these discrepancies, we urge individuals and performers to exercise caution and due diligence when dealing with the Afri Monologue Competition. Any engagement with their event is undertaken at the individual’s own risk, and we wish to reiterate that there is no connection between their competition and the Africa Monologue Challenge.

Second on my list of addictions is Movies.. the only thing I could possibly love more is my Dearest Waakye lol. Nothing else does a better job of reminding me that ANYTHING is possible with the right amount of effort. I have great eye for details and flaws in scripts. Shallow scripts bore me. I am an avid reader. Your everyday Mr Nice guy. Always the last to speak in a room full of smart people. Half Human, half Martian but full MOVIE FREAK.
