How Is Ghanaian Cinema Doing? Take a look at the 2025 Ghana Cinema Annual Report.

The year 2025 marked a significant period of activity for the Ghanaian film industry, showcasing a diverse array of stories intended to captivate local cinema lovers. This year has seen approximately 26 theatrical releases, which equals the turnout for 2024.

The 2025 calendar maintained this momentum with a consistent stream of premieres starting as early as January 2nd, with the number of releases peaking in November.

It is safe to say that the industry is determined to reclaim its space on the big screen, supported by a network of key cinema venues, including Silverbird, Golden Eagle, Ozone, and Royal View Cinemas, all of which are playing their part in helping to revive and sustain cinema culture.

As the curtain closes on 2025, it is evident that Ghanaian cinema is seeing some resurgence. The year’s success was not just in the number of films released, but in the collaborative efforts of production companies and talents as well to bring an improved quality in storytelling and production.
