The organisers of the Regal Film Festival and Awards (REFFA), joined by some renowned Ghanaian celebrities, took to the streets of Accra last Saturday for a health walk aimed at promoting fitness and a healthy lifestyle.

The walk, which began at the REFFA office at Kanda, saw over 100 participants traverse some principal streets of the capital. The event was supported by personnel from the Ghana Police Service, GTI Health Clinic, RIVIA Clinics, Golden Parani, Impression Eye care staff, a brass band, sympathisers in masquerades and some young filmmakers.

The seven-kilometre route took the group from Kanda through the Kanda Strip to Christ the King Church, onto SwitchBack Road, and towards Aviance on the Aviation Social Centre Road. From Aviance, the participants continued to the Airport Roundabout before making their way back towards 37, where they were energised by brass band music and musical interludes. The walk concluded back at the starting point at Kanda.

REFFA AWARDS is an award scheme which celebrates great movies and talents across the African continent and the diaspora. The maiden edition was held in December last year, and the organisers are poised to deliver another incredible awards night in December this year.
