There are not many Ghanaian films that purposefully take you on a trip back into time. The excuse has always been that it involves too much work or there simply aren’t enough logistics to make it happen.
“Keteke” is one such film that intends to take us all on a journey into the past and we have every reason to be excited about it.
In “Keteke”, A “CRAZY” couple – BOI and ATWEI travelling to birth their unborn child misses their train and gets stranded in the middle of somewhere we don’t know, with Atwei due for labour. Will Boi be a midwife, or risk losing his wife and child?
The period drama, from director Peter Sedufia casts Adjety Anang and Lydia Forson as leads. The supporting cast includes Fred Amugi, Jospeh Otsiman, Clemento Suarez, Jeneral Ntatia and Raymond Sarfo.
Peter started out writing, directing and producing short films and Keteke will be the first feature length film from the director. He has received acclaim for his short film “The Traveler” which won the Special Jury Prize for African Film Schools at the 2015 edition of the Panafrican Film and Television Festival of Ouagadougou (FESPACO).
The official social media campaign for “Keteke” starts on Monday 9th January 2017. All in anticipation for its expected March 2017 premiere.
We will do well to keep you posted as always.
Second on my list of addictions is Movies.. the only thing I could possibly love more is my Dearest Waakye lol. Nothing else does a better job of reminding me that ANYTHING is possible with the right amount of effort. I have great eye for details and flaws in scripts. Shallow scripts bore me. I am an avid reader. Your everyday Mr Nice guy. Always the last to speak in a room full of smart people. Half Human, half Martian but full MOVIE FREAK.
