The yet-to-be-released Ghanaian film “Letters To Goddo“, directed by  Harry BENTIL, has been officially selected for the prestigious Toronto International Nollywood Film Festival (TINFF).

The film follows two university graduates who reunite under unusual circumstances, discovering a suitcase filled with money. They grapple with whether this discovery is a divine response to their prayers or a test of their faith.

The film is produced by HB7Studios who are behind projects like ‘EDEN, (2020)’, ‘My Name Is Sam, (2022)’, ‘Apartment 22, (2017)’, ‘The Red October,(2020)’ and ‘B.E.A.T,(2016)

Besides its official selection for TINFF, “Letters To Goddo” has garnered nominations in two significant categories, Best Feature Film African and Best First Film International.

TINFF which is now a Canadian Screen Award (Academy of Canadian Cinema & Television) qualifying festival, will take place from September 8 to 15, 2024, with the Gala and Awards scheduled for September 14 and 15, 2024.

Now in its 8th year, the prestigious film festival features a well-curated selection of films reaffirming its focus on celebrating diversity, the festival aims to spotlight and empower filmmakers across the globe.

This selection hints at the potential of this Ghanaian production to provide “a fresh perspective on Ghanaian narratives, offering layers of characterisation and dialogue that challenge the audience’s preconceptions,” as stated by Harry BENTIL earlier this year.

The film set for its official release later this year stars an impressive ensemble cast, including Solomon Fixon-Owoo (Detor, 2024), Nenesenor Abloso (Certain Winds from The South, 2023), Prince David Osei (Nana Means King, 2015), Sitsofe Tsikor (Evor, 2024), Nikki Samonas (High Currency, 2022), and Peter Ritchie (Azali, 2018).

Second on my list of addictions is Movies.. the only thing I could possibly love more is my Dearest Waakye lol. Nothing else does a better job of reminding me that ANYTHING is possible with the right amount of effort. I have great eye for details and flaws in scripts. Shallow scripts bore me. I am an avid reader. Your everyday Mr Nice guy. Always the last to speak in a room full of smart people. Half Human, half Martian but full MOVIE FREAK.
