As Ghana’s cinematic landscape continues to make a resurgence to its former glory, there has been a call for authenticity and creative brilliance in our storytelling. Many filmmakers have taken up that challenge as they attempt to win back the love lost by Ghanaian cinema-goers.

Letters To Goddo” directed by the visionary Harry BENTIL, this soon-to-be-released Ghanaian film promises to challenge our perceptions of faith, fate, and the human condition itself.

The film “Letters To Goddo” details a profound exploration of humanity and our relationship with the divine. The story follows two university graduates who reunite under unusual circumstances, discovering a suitcase filled with money. As they contemplate whether this fated response to their prayers or a test of faith.

Harry BENTIL believes that “Letters To Goddo” presents a fresh perspective on Ghanaian narratives. “The film is layered through characterisation and dialogue in a way that would make you rethink some of the things you swore you knew,” he said in a conversation with this publication about the film.

He further declares it is not merely a movie, but an experience crafted with meticulous attention to detail. “The entire production right from developing the screenplay, and production design to casting was intentional every step of the way.”

The film stars talents like Solomon Fixon Owoo (Detor, 2024), Nenesenor Abloso (Certain Winds from The South (2023), Prince David Osei (Nana Means King, 2015), Sitsofe Tsikor (Evor, 2024), Nikki Samonas (High Currency, 2022) and Peter Ritchie (Azali, 2018)

As we prepare to be captivated from the opening scene to the final credits, “Letters To Goddo” promises to defy conventions, offering a narrative that is as refreshing as it is thought-provoking. It is set to unpack several themes from the economic struggles of Ghanaian graduates to the complexities of family dynamics, the film hopefully tackles issues that resonate far beyond its setting.

The film is produced by HB7Studios who are behind projects like ‘EDEN, (2020)’, ‘My Name Is Sam, (2022)’, ‘Apartment 22, (2017)’, ‘The Red October,(2020)’ and ‘B.E.A.T,(2016).

As anticipation builds for the release of this film, one thing is certain, this promises to be different. It is gearing up to be a conversation-worthy film that gives testament to the power of storytelling to provoke, inspire, and ultimately, connect us to something greater than ourselves.

Second on my list of addictions is Movies.. the only thing I could possibly love more is my Dearest Waakye lol. Nothing else does a better job of reminding me that ANYTHING is possible with the right amount of effort. I have great eye for details and flaws in scripts. Shallow scripts bore me. I am an avid reader. Your everyday Mr Nice guy. Always the last to speak in a room full of smart people. Half Human, half Martian but full MOVIE FREAK.
